Donated by Dr. Kevin Waltz and Rhonda Fox Waltz
Generosity to the Nth. This from long-time donors of Jean-Louis Chave’s Hermitage. This is one of two bottles of the 1991 Jean-Louis Chave Ermitage "Cuvee Cathelin" Special Red Artist Label that were donated to us this year. Produced in the Northern Rhone Region, this is one of France's finest and longest lived examples of the Syrah Grape.
"In 1991, Chave made 2,500 bottles of a Hermitage Cuvee Speciale that is significantly richer and more profound than the classic cuvee. It offers an opaque dark purple color, and a huge nose of cassis, vanillin, smoke, and flowers. Full-bodied, dense, and powerful, this deeply concentrated, rich, magnificent Hermitage will benefit from 3-5 years of cellaring and last for 25-30+ years. Wine Advocate 96 points
