There are Signorello wines --- and then there is their Padrone, which was created in honor of Ray Signorello Sr., a visionary whose life was as full of character as their wines. The grapes for this proprietary Cabernet Sauvignon are sourced from the best blocks of their extremely rocky hillside vineyard. To preserve fruit intensity and body, the wine was not fined or filtered prior to bottling. To honor a larger-than live Napa icon, here is a larger-than life 3.0L double magnum.
2007 Signorello Padrone
"Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2007 Padrone Proprietary Red Wine reveals a gorgeous perfume of Chinese five spice, mincemeat pie, roasted nuts, tobacco and dried lavender with a core of warm black plums, blackcurrant cordial and warm black berries plus wafts of menthol and dried Provence herbs. Full-bodied, rich and opulent in the mouth, the palate has matured into a wonderful array of tertiary flavors with loads of savory and exotic spice accents, framed by firm, grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing with amazing persistence."
